Pioneers programme in Hungary

Global change in an increasingly urban world, sustainable development and resilience have become strategic issues for cities. Nature-based solutions (NBS) hold significant promise in responding to economic, social and environmental challenges, yet there is a substantial gap between their promise and actual uptake even despite their multiple benefits incl. lower investment needs. If we are to bring NBS into the mainstream of urbanization, we must analyze urban systems, understand the actors, their interests, and how they affect the interplay between established agendas and urban innovations during their lifecycle (from conceptualization, to implementation, maintenance and monitoring). Thus, we aim to support mainstreaming by introducing systems innovation mindset, proven methods, tools and techniques, and leverage the experience of partners for Pioneers of municipal backgrounds. This will be done  through workshops, field visits, expert interactions and group work.
