Welcome to the Pioneers Slovenia page!

Izvedbo Pioneers into Practice programa za Slovenijo že od leta 2014 vodi in koordinira CO NOT - Center odličnosti nizkoogljične tehnologije. CO NOT združuje vse bistvene slovenske potenciale, ki omogočajo skladen, celovit in sistematičen razvoj naprednih tehnologij in bodo pospešili prehajanje Slovenije v nizkoogljično družbo.

Pioneers into Practice is an education and exchange programme for professionals from the various fields connected with climate change.

It brings together climate change professionals with organizations from across the public, private, research & not for profit backgrounds from a range of different climate change sectors. It 's a  unique opportunity to collaborate across Europe, share expertise & best practice, expand networks, and create new products and services in the field of climate change.

In 2020 the Programme will start in June with a 4-5-day virtual Introductory Workshop (few hours per day), where you will receive knowledge on transition thinking and system innovation in the area of climate change adaptation and mitigation. There you also take on group projects on real climate challenges, for which you also receive mentoring and support. Between September to mid-November, you will go to a placement (professional exchange), which lasts from 4-6 weeks and can be domestic or international (in one of 19 countries all over Europe). In 2020 it will be an option to choose virtual placements and even if you wish you can opt-out of the placement section of the programme this year. In November you will finish the Programme with a 2-day Final Workshop in Ljubljana. In the case of the continuation of Covid-19, the Final Workshop will be held virtual.

Delivered through CO NOT (Centre of Excellence for Low-Carbon Technologies), Pioneers into Practice has been running in Ljubljana since 2014. CO NOT unites all vital Slovenian potential in order to enable the harmonious, comprehensive, and systematic development of advanced technologies designed to facilitate Slovenia's transformation into a low-carbon society. Our partner network is involved in the promotion of the programme as well as the dissemination of its outcomes. Among our partners are the National Institute of Chemistry (NIC) and Technology Park of Ljubljana (TPLJ).

Within our participation in the programme we were able to acquire a wide range of experts who in the programme recognized an opportunity to acquire new knowledge, skills, and professional experience from the best coaches and host organizations in their home countries and from all over Europe.

If you are ready to think outside the box and make climate innovation happen then this programme is for you!
